FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does a typical service look like?

The first part of our service is dedicated to worshipping the Lord together as families. We desire to lift up the name of Jesus and focus our attention on Him. We pray that as we draw together into His presence that our minds, hearts and attention will be on Him and not on the musicians or those around us. We desire to  use this time to meditate on Him and give Him thanks for all He has done and is continuing to do.

After worship we take a brief break for announcements and then let the little ones (toddlers to age 5) go to class. Because we believe that a child’s discipleship is a parental privilege and responsibility we encourage children to sit with their families during the service. We try to provide age appropriate learning aids for them to utilize during the teaching, such as word search and crossword puzzles so they can hopefully learn at their level while also learning to listen attentively.

The teaching time is dedicated to deliberate teaching through the Bible, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. This is because we strongly believe that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Why don’t we have separate Sunday School for school age and youth?

In order to help families grow in the Lord as the Bible describes, we try to keep families integrated. We believe that as parents and children worship and learn the Word together on Sundays they are better prepared to reinforce the lessons through the week in their daily lives at home.

Why isn’t an offering plate passed?

We believe that everything we have belongs to God and that where God guides He provides. Therefore we do not pass a plate but have a box available in the back for those who feel led to give as God directs.

How is our church involved in outreach?

We are focused on equipping and encouraging our people to go out in the community throughout the week and reach those in need.
